US Youth Fly Fishing Team

Brian Kimmel, Assistant Coach

Brian Kimmel is a life long resident of Montana and a fisherman since he was five years old, who has dedicated 30 years to learning the waters and fish habits of the trout filled rivers that flow through Montana.

"From western waters like the Clarks Fork of the Columbia and Bitterroot, to the far eastern waters
of the Bighorn and lower Yellowstone with all points in between, I've been chasing the noble trout."

"This knowledge has pushed me to the forefront of the guide industry with the opportunity to be heard on TV shows like Fly Fishing America and the Great Outdoor Games, as well as countless
magazine articles (Fly Rod & Reel & American Angler) and public speaking opportunities with Fly Fishing Team USA and during industry trade shows."

Brian has been recognized by the leader in the fly fishing industry, the Orvis Company, as one of the very best guides in the fresh water world by achieving the coveted "1999 Orvis Guide of the Year" award, given for excellence in guide development and
providing an exceptional outdoor experience.

Brian has stood along the banks of many rivers and lakes in his lifetime and he's observed "unbelievable acts of nature balanced with trout in their environments."

As well, he has chased Permit to the end of the earth on some of the most beautiful coral flats one could imagine, "Humbled by these fish's presence. I wish to share my passion with you on our travels
through Montana and elsewhere in the pursuit of fish, Let Shadow of a Trout take you there."
