Danny Marino

(2007 – 2010)

West Cornwall, CT

Danny Marino was the highest US finisher in the World Championships held in the Czech Republic in 2009.  He is age 16 and lives in West Cornwall, CT. Danny started fishing when he was three years old. He has been fly fishing and tying his own flies since age 9.

This is Danny’s fourth  year on the traveling team. The first year Danny was the alternate, and did not have an opportunity to fish in the competition.  The following year Danny finished an impressive 8th overall in Portugal and was the highest US finisher for the second year in a row in the Czech Republic

Danny is a true outdoorsman; he is always in pursuit of fish or game. When he isn’t fishing, he can be found tying flies, shooting his bow, or out scouting. Most summers find him on the flats of Cape Canaveral, Florida fishing for reds or traveling out west with his family fishing the blue ribbon rivers.

“Being home schooled allows me time to complete my school work and have lots of time for all the other things I am interested in, like hunting and fishing,” explains Dan.

This summer Danny’s goal is helping Team USA bring home a medal from the Slovakia as team captain
