Noah Thompson

(2009 - 2010)

Austin, TX

Noah began fishing with his father at age 2, and fly fishing with his first fly rod at age 5. At age 8, he was featured in the Spring 2004 issue of The Drake magazine, and the fly fishing film “Feeding Time”. At age 10, he was a junior casting presenter at the February 2005 ISE trade show in San Mateo, CA.

In 2007, at age 12, Noah was invited to participate with Youth Team 1 as an unofficial alternate at the Youth Fly Fishing World Championship in State College, PA. In 2009, in his 1st year of team eligibility at age 14, he traveled to the Czech Republic as member of Youth Team USA for the World Championship. As a member of the 2010 Youth Team USA, he was chosen to compete in the 2009 US Men's National Fly Fishing Championship, finishing 30th out of 50.

Noah spends his summers trout fishing all over the Rocky Mountain West, and saltwater fly fishing the Texas coast and Florida Keys. He is 15 years old and a freshman in high school, where he plays football, track, and lacrosse. When not pursuing his passion of fly fishing and tying flies, Noah enjoys snow skiing, wakeboarding, and upland bird hunting.

This is Noah’s second year with Youth Team USA, and he is looking forward to representing the United States in Slovakia in the summer of 2010.
