Weston Reynolds

(2007 - 2009)

Harrisonburg, VA

Weston was raised in Harrisonburg, VA, and has been fly fishing since he was eight years old. He spends his summers in the Tetons and has grown up fishing the waters of Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana. He works for Mike Lawson at the fly shop Henry's Fork Anglers in Last Chance, Idaho, where he will be entering his fourth summer of employment. Weston fished in four FIPS-Mouche World Youth Fly Fishing Championships during his five-year tenure with the US Youth Fly Fishing Team, twice in Portugal, once in Pennsylvania, and most recently in the Czech Republic. Weston is on hiatus from competitive fly fishing at the moment while he is a student at the University of Virginia. He anticipates pursuing a degree in Political & Social Thought, History, Environmental Thought & Practice, or Urban and Environmental Planning, tying his lifelong love for fly fishing and the river with his academic pursuits. Weston is an accomplished fly tier and also enjoys photography. He is unsure of his capacity of involvement with the USYFFT in the future, but looks forward to helping other teens pursue their love of fly fishing. He wishes the team all the best in their future travels and fishing adventures. May they learn from their experiences as much as he did.
